Virat Kohli Misses 1st ODI Against England Due to Injury After 939 Days

Virat Kohli is not part of the Indian team in the first ODI against England in Nagpur due to a knee injury. Indian captain Rohit Sharma informed during the toss that Kohli couldn’t play because of the knee issue. This marks the second time in 939 days that Kohli has missed an ODI due to injury. During the toss, Rohit Sharma mentioned, “Unfortunately, Virat Kohli is not playing. He had a knee problem last night.”

When Was Kohli Last Out Due to Injury?

Virat Kohli was last out of an ODI due to injury during India’s tour of England in June-July 2022. Kohli missed the first ODI of the series, which was played on July 12 at Kennington Oval. After that, today, February 6, 2025, is the second instance where Kohli has missed a match because of an injury. However, he returned to the playing XI in the second match of that series.

Virat Kohli has played 295 ODIs in his career. In 283 innings, he has scored 13,906 runs at an average of 58.18. His record includes 50 centuries and 72 half-centuries, with his highest score being 183 runs. Kohli made his ODI debut in August 2008.
