Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati held a special meeting on March 25 to strengthen her party’s support among Other Backward Classes (OBCs). She is working on a new political strategy by bringing together Dalits and OBCs to revive BSP, which has been struggling in recent years.
In Uttar Pradesh, OBC voters are traditionally associated with BJP and SP. However, Mayawati is now creating a new challenge for both parties by announcing the formation of “Bhaichara Committees” (Brotherhood Committees) to unite these communities.
BSP’s New Campaign for OBCs
According to a BSP press release, the party believes that both central and state governments have discriminated against OBCs. The release states that OBCs face neglect, exploitation, and injustice, just like Dalits. BSP has decided to launch a major campaign to unite all sections of the Bahujan Samaj (Dalits, OBCs, and minorities) and gain political power.
Campaign Plans
BSP will focus on the following points:
✅ Raising awareness in villages about Congress, BJP, and SP’s anti-OBC and anti-Dalit policies.
✅ Exposing how these parties have misled and betrayed Bahujan communities.
✅ Encouraging OBCs and Dalits to join BSP and fight for their rights.
With this new strategy, Mayawati aims to challenge BJP and SP in UP and strengthen BSP’s vote bank ahead of the upcoming elections.
