The preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 are about to begin, and many players are expected to change teams this time. Before IPL 2025, a mega auction will be held, where all teams will release their retained player lists. For Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), three players are at risk of being released. The team might part ways with Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram.
Mayank Agarwal:
Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Mayank Agarwal in 2023 for ₹8.25 crore. Before joining SRH, he was with Punjab Kings. However, Mayank’s performance last season was not impressive. He played only 4 matches and scored just 64 runs. In 2023, he had scored 270 runs in 10 matches. Given this, SRH might decide to release Mayank and look for another player in the mega auction.
Aiden Markram:
Aiden Markram could also be on his way out from SRH. The team might release him before the mega auction. In the last season, Markram scored 220 runs in 11 matches, including one half-century. In 2023, he had scored 248 runs in 13 matches. SRH had bought Markram for ₹2.60 crore in 2022, but now they might part ways with him.
Rahul Tripathi:
Rahul Tripathi has performed well in domestic matches, and his IPL performance has been decent. However, his performance in the last season was not up to the mark. Tripathi scored 165 runs in 6 matches during IPL 2024, including one half-century. Over his IPL career, Tripathi has played 95 matches and scored 2,236 runs, including 12 half-centuries. SRH had bought him for ₹8.50 crore in 2022 after he played for Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite his potential, SRH might consider releasing him before the next season.
These three players could be on their way out as Sunrisers Hyderabad looks to revamp its squad for IPL 2025.
