“I Will Be the Chief Minister” – Siddaramaiah’s Big Statement, D.K. Shivakumar Says – “No Other Option”

Published on

Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave a strong message to Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar and his supporters. Siddaramaiah clearly said that he will remain the CM for the full 5 years.

When reporters asked him, “Will you be CM for 5 years?”, he replied:

“Yes, I will. Why do you doubt it?”

This statement came at a time when BJP and JD(S) claimed that there is internal conflict within the Congress party.

🟠 What’s the Issue?

In political circles, there are rumours that Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar had a power-sharing deal. According to these reports, Shivakumar may become CM at the end of this year. But Shivakumar recently said:

“There is no discussion on leadership change. I want to strengthen the hands of CM Siddaramaiah and our government.”

🔵 What Did Siddaramaiah Say About CM Change?

On the claims made by BJP and JD(S) that Congress will soon change its CM, Siddaramaiah asked:

“Are they our high command? Why should we believe what BJP leaders like R. Ashok or B.Y. Vijayendra are saying? Journalists should verify such claims first.”

🟢 Shivakumar Also Denied Any Problem

Shivakumar said in Bengaluru:

“There is no unhappiness in the party. When Siddaramaiah is already the CM, there is no need to talk about any change.”

In May 2023, after the assembly elections, there was a tough competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for the CM post. The party made a deal and appointed Siddaramaiah as CM and Shivakumar as Deputy CM.

At that time, some reports said there was a “rotation formula”, where Shivakumar would become CM after 2.5 years. But the party never confirmed this officially.

✅ In Simple Words:

  • Siddaramaiah says he will stay CM for 5 years.
  • Shivakumar says there is no plan to change the CM.
  • BJP and JD(S) are spreading rumours, but Congress leaders deny any issue.
