Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, is not happy with the way Siri is developing. As a result, he has made a big decision to remove the head of Siri’s team. For a long time, Apple has failed to bring new features to Siri, which has caused delays and disappointment. Now, Tim Cook has given the responsibility of improving Siri to the creator of Vision Pro. Let’s understand this in detail.
AI Head Removed from Siri Team
According to reports, Tim Cook has lost trust in Apple’s AI head, John Giannandrea. Because of this, he has handed over the Siri project to Mike Rockwell, who was the Vice President of the Vision Products Group. Now, Rockwell will be in charge of Siri and will report to Craig Federighi, Apple’s software chief.
With this change, Giannandrea will no longer have any role in Siri. However, Apple has not yet made an official announcement about this. The company is expected to inform its employees about this change next week. Meanwhile, Paul Meade will take Rockwell’s position and lead Apple’s headset division.
Apple Falling Behind in Competition
Recently, Apple has been facing challenges and is struggling to compete with rivals. The company has not introduced any major innovations to stay ahead in the market. Even Apple’s AI project, Apple Intelligence, was launched late and did not get a strong response.
Additionally, Apple is facing a decline in iPhone sales in China, which is affecting its overall performance. Due to these issues, Apple’s stock has dropped by 14% this year.
With the new leadership in Siri’s team, Apple hopes to improve its AI assistant and regain its competitive edge in the market.
