Now, before an important T20 World Cup 2024 match against Australia, Rohit shared some honest thoughts in an interview.

In a talk with Star Sports, Rohit said:

“The anger was always there, and somewhere in your mind, it keeps running. They (Australia) ruined our 19th November. The whole country was upset that day. So now whenever I see the Australian team, I feel like giving them a good gift – like knocking them out of the tournament.”

Rohit also said:

  • When he goes to bat, he doesn’t play with a revenge mindset.
  • But inside the dressing room, there are jokes and fun going around.
  • Players often say, “Knock them out of the tournament”.
  • It may sound like fun, but the emotions are real and personal.

Rohit said, “It’s not easy to forget that loss. The whole country was heartbroken. When something gets stuck in your mind, you try to change it every time you get the chance.”
