Amit Shah’s Big Announcement on Delimitation: Southern States Will Get Fair Share, No Seat Will Be Reduced

Published on

Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the southern states will not lose any parliamentary seats due to delimitation. His statement came a day after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin called for an all-party meeting on March 5 to discuss the issue.

Amit Shah’s Statement

Speaking at the inauguration of BJP offices in Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, and Ramanathapuram, Shah addressed concerns about the delimitation process. He said, “A meeting is being held today to ensure that the South does not suffer due to delimitation. People in Tamil Nadu are worried, and that is why CM Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin are trying to mislead them. Mr. Stalin, the Modi government has already clarified in Lok Sabha that no parliamentary seat in any southern state will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. I assure the people of South India that Modi ji has ensured that not even one seat will be cut. Any increase in seats will be shared fairly among the southern states, so there is no reason to doubt this.”

Response to Stalin’s Concerns

Amit Shah’s statement was a direct reply to Stalin, who had earlier claimed that Tamil Nadu might lose up to eight out of its 39 Lok Sabha seats, bringing the number down to 31. Stalin had described the delimitation process as a “sword hanging over South India” and warned of reduced representation and rights for the state.

Shah accused Stalin of spreading false information and misleading the people of Tamil Nadu. He said, “You are lying to Tamil people and making false claims about delimitation. I challenge you to answer why you are doing this.”

Criticism of DMK Government

Shah did not stop at delimitation but also criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for corruption and poor governance. He alleged that DMK leaders were involved in money laundering, illegal sand mining, and other scams, including the 2G scam.

He also pointed out that Tamil Nadu’s law and order situation was worsening compared to other states.

BJP’s Political Vision for Tamil Nadu

Looking ahead to the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Shah urged BJP workers to bring the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government to power in the state. He said, “The time has come to remove DMK’s anti-people, anti-national government. The NDA government we will establish in Tamil Nadu will mark a new beginning. We will eliminate all separatist and divisive ideologies and remove anti-national forces from the state.”

Amit Shah’s strong remarks indicate that the BJP is gearing up for a major political battle in Tamil Nadu, focusing on delimitation, governance, and corruption as key issues.
