If you use any Apple device like iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision Pro, this news is important for you. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, has issued a serious safety alert for Apple users.
What’s the Issue?
According to CERT-In, there are dangerous security problems in some Apple devices. Hackers can use these flaws to break into your device, steal your personal data, or even take full control of it. This can put your privacy and finances at great risk.
This warning is mentioned in advisory CIVN-2025-0071 and affects many Apple systems like iOS, macOS, iPadOS, Safari browser, and other Apple software.
Who is at Risk?
This warning is not only for personal users but also for businesses. The highest risk is for people who are using older versions of Apple’s software.
Affected Versions:
- iPhone/iPad: Below iOS/iPadOS 18.4, 17.7.6, 16.7.11, 15.8.4
- Mac: Below macOS Sequoia 15.4, Sonoma 14.7.5, Ventura 13.7.5
- Apple TV: Below tvOS 18.4
- Apple Vision Pro: Below visionOS 2.4
- Safari browser: Below version 18.4
- Xcode: Below version 16.3
