The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on February 6 that the renovation work of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium has been completed. This renovation was done for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi expressed his gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly on the project. The tournament will start on February 19 and end on March 9. Matches will be played in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.
PM to Inaugurate Gaddafi Stadium
A leading media house in Pakistan reported that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium today. PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi will review the preparations for the ceremony. Celebrities like Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, and Arif Lohar are expected to attend the event. It is claimed that the renovation work was completed in a record time of 117 days.
Champions Trophy Schedule in Lahore
- The first match in Lahore will be held on February 22 between Australia and England.
- On February 26, Afghanistan will face England.
- On February 28, Afghanistan will play against Australia.
- The second semi-final will also be played at Gaddafi Stadium.
Important Update
A previous report revealed that PCB must hand over all three stadiums to the ICC by February 11. Meanwhile, the Indian team will play all its matches in Dubai due to security concerns, as the BCCI refused to send the team to Pakistan.
