The Uttar Pradesh government has given a big gift to 1.86 crore families before Holi. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the government has released a subsidy of ₹1,890 crore for gas cylinder refills. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed the subsidy at a special event in Lucknow.
CM Yogi’s Announcement on Social Media
CM Yogi posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter):
“Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, ₹1,890 crore has been distributed to 1.86 crore eligible families in Uttar Pradesh for gas cylinder refills at an event in Lucknow.”
Scooty for Girls After Board Exams
After distributing the subsidy, CM Yogi made another important announcement. He said that after the board exam results, scooties will be provided to girl students.
Additionally, from April 2025, the government will provide ₹1 lakh to help in girls’ marriages.
Hostels for Working Women
CM Yogi also announced that hostels will be built for working women who live in rented houses. This will help them get better residential facilities.
Free Cylinders on Holi and Diwali
The government is focusing on women’s health by providing smoke-free kitchens. Under this plan, two free gas cylinder refills per year will be given during Holi and Diwali.
Deputy CM’s Statement
Before the event, UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak spoke to journalists. He said, “Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, over 1 crore people in UP are getting subsidized gas cylinder connections.”
Instructions for Holi and Ramzan
On Holi and Ramzan, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, “We have given instructions to ensure that both Holi and Ramzan are celebrated peacefully with brotherhood while maintaining law and order.”
