Vivah Muhurat 2025: 76 Auspicious Wedding Dates This Year, February And May To Witness The Most Marriages

Published on

Vivah Muhurat 2025: The Sun entered Capricorn on January 14, 2025, marking the end of Kharmas or Malmas. With this, auspicious and ceremonial activities have begun. The joyous tunes of wedding celebrations will echo once again, as 2025 has 76 auspicious wedding dates.

These auspicious dates span from January to December, although there are certain months in between without any wedding muhurats. In Hinduism, marriage is considered one of the most significant rituals among the 16 sacred rites.

When Will Auspicious Ceremonies Be Paused In 2025?

The wedding muhurats for 2025 began on January 16. From July 6, 2025, Devshayani Ekadashi marks the start of Chaturmas, during which no wedding muhurats will occur from July to October. The next muhurat will fall on Devuthani Ekadashi on November 1, but regular wedding muhurats will resume from November 21 onwards.

Guru-Shukra Asta

In the year 2025, Jupiter will be combust for 27 days, from June 12 to July 9. Additionally, Venus (Shukra) will be combust from March 19 to March 23 for 4 days, and again from December 12 to December 31 for 24 days. During this period, auspicious activities will not take place.

76 Auspicious Marriage Dates In 2025

Marriage muhurats for 2025 began on January 15, the day after Makar Sankranti. Interestingly, the upcoming year will not face a shortage of auspicious marriage dates. Although weddings will take place only in 8 months of the year, there will still be 76 auspicious marriage days. February and May will be particularly rich in muhurats, with weddings even on Akshaya Tritiya, which falls on April 30.

In Vedic astrology, Jupiter is considered an auspicious planet. Its favorable position in a horoscope ensures success in various areas of life, while a weak Jupiter can bring challenges. Jupiter rules the signs Sagittarius and Pisces, is exalted in Cancer, and debilitated in Saturn’s sign, Capricorn.

To strengthen Jupiter, devotees are advised to offer gram flour (besan) ladoos to Lord Shiva every Thursday, observe fasts, donate yellow items as per their capacity, and light a ghee lamp for Lord Vishnu.

According to scriptures, Jupiter must be in an elevated state during a wedding. In our 16 sacraments (Shodasha Samskaras), marriage holds great importance. While determining the wedding date and auspicious time, the positions of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter in the horoscopes of the bride and groom must be carefully considered, a process known as ‘Tribala Shuddhi.’

Weddings Are Prohibited During The Combustion Of Venus And Jupiter

When calculating wedding muhurats, the positions of Venus and Jupiter are considered. Weddings and other auspicious ceremonies are not held during the combustion of Venus and Jupiter, so no weddings should take place during this time.

Most Weddings Are In February And May

The most auspicious wedding dates will occur in February and May. These months will include July, August, September, and October. In June, Lord Vishnu will enter yoga nidra. After that, favorable wedding dates will be available in November and December. This year, Jupiter will stay in Taurus, and the Sun will remain in Capricorn until February 12. The calculation of these planets is taken into account for weddings, forming the beneficial Ninth and Fifth house yoga.

No Auspicious Muhurats Between July And October

According to astrology, Lord Vishnu enters a state of yoga nidra from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devuthani Ekadashi. During this period, marriages and other auspicious events are restricted. In 2025, Devshayani Ekadashi falls on July 6, after which Lord Vishnu will rest for four months, and this period will end on November 1, with Devuthani Ekadashi.

These four months are known as Chaturmas, a period considered sacred in religious terms, during which auspicious events are prohibited. According to astrological rules, performing weddings or related activities during this time is considered forbidden. Therefore, if you follow astrology and auspicious timings, it is advisable to avoid marriages or related tasks during these months.

This period is ideal for prayer, meditation, and self-reflection. After Devuthani Ekadashi, auspicious muhurats for marriages and other important rituals will begin again. Hence, when planning your wedding, be mindful of these factors and choose the right time for a happy and prosperous married life.

Religious Significance Of Marriage

Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest religions in the world, rich in various traditions and beliefs. One such tradition is a sacred marriage, considered the happiest moment of life. Marriages are performed in various ways, each with its own rituals and significance. In Hinduism, it is one of the 16 samskaras, and without it, a person cannot enter the household stage of life. Therefore, marriage is considered the most important and auspicious in our scriptures.
