The Hindenburg report has faced severe criticism from Indian politicians. Union Minister Giriraj Singh, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, and former MP Sanjay Nirupam have strongly attacked Hindenburg. On Monday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused Hindenburg Research of colluding with Congress to defame the country and promised that strict action would be taken against the American research and investment company. Singh also criticized Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh, calling them a part of a group trying to defame India. He stated, “We will not tolerate this insult to the nation, and the strictest action will be taken against Hindenburg.”
Ravi Shankar Prasad: Toolkit Gang Doesn’t Care About India
Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad reiterated the party’s stance in a press conference, stating that the allegations by the short-selling company and the opposition’s criticism of SEBI are part of a larger conspiracy. He explained that while India is seen globally as a safe, stable, and thriving market, the Congress party wants to create an environment where India’s investment landscape appears insecure.
Prasad mentioned that billionaire investor George Soros is associated with Hindenburg and is known for running campaigns against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He added that Congress aims to crash the stock market, which has provided good returns to millions of small investors.
Prasad further claimed that after being rejected by the people, Congress and its allies have conspired with the “toolkit gang” to bring economic instability and chaos to India. He questioned why such critical reports were not released during the 10 years of Congress rule from 2004 to 2014, which allegedly saw several scams.
Sanjay Nirupam: Those Supporting Hindenburg Want to Destroy the Economy
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam called the Hindenburg report a conspiracy against the country. He said that Hindenburg is a financial institution based in the United States that engages in short-selling in various stock markets. Nirupam described the report as an attack on India’s economy, aimed at disrupting and weakening it. He stated that those standing with Hindenburg, including Congress and the rest of the opposition, are part of this conspiracy against India.
Congress Interested in Chaos and Controversy: Jyotiraditya Scindia
Union Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia accused Congress on Sunday of spreading chaos and controversy over Hindenburg Research’s allegations against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. Hindenburg suggested that SEBI’s reluctance to act against the Adani Group might be due to Buch and her husband’s involvement in foreign funds related to the Adani Group.
Responding to questions from reporters, Scindia said, “Congress only wants to create chaos and drag the country into controversial matters.”
Conspiracy Now Clearly Visible: BJP Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi
BJP Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that Hindenburg, the short-selling company that made serious allegations against the Adani Group last year, is now facing investigations by Indian agencies. He told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the opposition parties are echoing Hindenburg’s allegations, and the conspiracy is now clearly visible—they want to create chaos and instability, especially in the financial sector.
Trivedi also mentioned that several critical reports from foreign sources are often released just before Parliament sessions, suggesting that opposition leaders were aware that this report would come out during the session. The Monsoon session of Parliament was supposed to end on Monday, but it was adjourned indefinitely on Friday.
Attempts to Create Chaos in the Economy: Rajeev Chandrasekhar
BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the short-selling company attacked SEBI in clear partnership with Congress. He posted on ‘X’ that the goal is to destabilize and defame one of the world’s strongest financial systems and create chaos in the world’s fastest-growing economy.
