Gautam Adani Feels Honored to Host British High Commissioner in India

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his honor in hosting the British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, on Monday. He praised Cameron’s clear and insightful views on the changing global scenario.

Adani shared details of his meeting with Cameron through a post on the micro-blogging site X (formerly known as Twitter). He mentioned that Cameron’s sharp and practical opinions on the evolving global landscape are compelling. Adani also found it inspiring to see Cameron engaging with the second batch of Chevening-Adani AI scholarship winners, who will be studying at top UK universities.

Adani said, “The Adani Group is thrilled to support these talented individuals as they contribute to advancing AI applications in both India and the UK.”

Earlier in May, Adani had met with Cameron and wished her well in strengthening relations between the two countries. In a previous post on X, Adani remarked that it was exciting to learn about Cameron’s work on cybersecurity, the future of nuclear energy, and other important topics during her tenure in various global regions, including Iraq and Afghanistan. He also wished her success in her vital role in enhancing India-UK relations.

Lindy Cameron, who succeeded Alex Ellis, is the first female British High Commissioner to India.

The Adani Group is offering five scholarships to Indian applicants who wish to pursue a Chevening-eligible degree equivalent to a UK second-class honors degree. According to the group, “We aim to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in India… Supporting these talented individuals will help build and grow the AI-ML ecosystem in India.”

The Adani Group also stated, “We want to lead the revolution that will transform India into a global technology hub. This will be possible only if we help the next generation receive world-class education and use it to make the world a better place.”

According to the Chevening website, the Adani Group has committed over $7 billion to support education, healthcare, and skill development in rural India.
