Delhi Rain Alert Live Updates: As heavy rains continued to wreak havoc in Delhi, the India Meteorological Department said the southwest monsoon has made its entry into entire Capital.
Delhi Breaking News, Delhi Weather Update (June 28): The national capital on Friday received heavy rainfall – possibly the highest in June since 1936, which left one person dead and eight others injured after a portion of the roof at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 collapsed on cars. All flight departures from the terminal were also temporarily suspended. Meanwhile, after taking stock of the situation at the airport, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu rushed to Safdarjung Hospital to visit the injured.
What happened at Delhi airport? A portion of the canopy at the departure area of Delhi’s airport Terminal 1 collapsed early in the morning. Flight operations at Terminal-1 have been shut down till 2 pm. The entire terminal has been evacuated an inquiry has been ordered into the incident, Naidu said.
