Delhi CM Atishi claimed that Delhi Police conducted a raid at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s residence in Delhi. She criticized the move, stating that BJP is openly distributing cash, shoes, and blankets, but no action is taken against them. Instead, the police are targeting an elected CM’s house. She added that the people of Delhi will give BJP a response on February 5.
Complaint Received on cVIGIL Portal
An election officer stated that a complaint was filed through the Election Commission’s cVIGIL portal, alleging that cash distribution was happening at the location. As a result, a team was sent to investigate. Permission from the Punjab DIG was being sought to enter the premises.
Request for Entry Permission
The officer mentioned that permission was requested for three individuals to enter the residence — one cameraman and two election officials. The team would proceed with the investigation once the permission is granted.
Returning Officer’s Statement
Returning Officer OP Pandey explained, “A complaint was received on cVIGIL that cash was being distributed at Kapurthala House. Our FST (Flying Squad Team) came for inspection but couldn’t enter. Therefore, I came personally. We must resolve complaints within 100 minutes. We will inspect and then leave.”
CM Bhagwant Mann’s Reaction
CM Bhagwant Mann expressed his frustration, stating that BJP is openly distributing cash, but neither the police nor the Election Commission notices it. He alleged that under BJP’s influence, the police and Election Commission are trying to defame the people of Punjab.
